I am pleased to announce that I will be facilitating an interactive workshop at the International Leadership Association Conference in Toronto.
Leadership theories and leadership development initiatives often fail for the same underlying reason: they operate with partial or implicit assumptions about reality, knowledge, values, practice, and purpose. This session introduces the Five-Dimensional (5D) Metatheory, encompassing ontology, epistemology, axiology, praxis, and telos, as a practical framework for diagnosing these limitations and designing more coherent approaches to leadership scholarship and development.
Participants will apply the framework to uncover hidden assumptions in leadership models and development programs, identify misalignments among their dimensions, and examine why many well-intentioned interventions underperform in complex, ethical, and regenerative contexts. The workshop will provide scholars, educators, and practitioners with a shared metatheoretical language and a portable tool that can be applied to research, teaching, and leadership development design.
